  • Six days to go until the next round of bill paying starts.....and yet again I'm amazed by my keen-ness to pay the bills these days. :rotfl:

This year I have been very, very good and have deleted the Next VIP sale invitation from my inbox. I have £2500 on my Next card and this year, for the first time EVER, I am not going to randomly buy £500 worth of clothes just because they are half price. In fact, I'm not going to buy ANY clothes as I don't need any, nor do the kids.

  • Morning all

£5.00 from me this morning to the dreaded Virgin CC.

    £238.31/£7873.87 #130

Everyone has broken up from school now and its only 4 more sleeps. The children are all so excited its going to be a long few days.

I need your advice. I have cut down what I spend on each person this year. My brother wanted a jumper which cost me £19, and I also got him a selection box (he is only 16 and I have got him one as long as I can remember). I would normally put a tenner in a card for him but I am torn. I have already spent alot - more than I have on others, but I feel guilty for not doing it. What should I do??

  • Figures are in for today's payday:

    #055 InsertWittyName £3,217.50/£15,626.32 (20.59%)

    £2,673.61 paid off this month!

Hoping to pay around another £1k off before next payday too.

Keep up the good work everyone!

    :T

[EDIT] Just seen your reply mf0u1098, you're gonna have to up your game girl to catch us blokes up!

Just kidding, hope it's all going well for you :)

Some fabulous figures being posted on here.......I only hope it doesn't end in bloodshed  :rotfl: Whilst there's no way I can keep up with the figures you guys are making I've been saving up for the last four months in the hope of paying my bank loan off in January although it won't save me any interest it will free up £260 pcm which I can then throw at other debt.

Have a great day everyone - great mini challenge as well this week (as always)!

I think that at 16 he's old enough to understand, certainly my 15 yr old understands the value of money and even though I've spent £300 on him because of the price of his gifts (new xbox 360) he's only got five things to unwrap - I'm unhappy about it and he keeps telling me not to be stupid :o If you can't face not putting anything in then at the most put five pounds in, cutting back is hard and even though I've still spent £1400 this year (inc a party) I've actually cut back .......still we've got four days left yet :rotfl:

I've been super organised and thanks to SB I've already ordered two £5 Amazon vouchers which I will swap for two games for NEXT Christmas :T My family think I'm crazy and it's my guilty secret, haven't even told my flush friends ;)
  • New bank account now set up:) pots started and a new budget in place for 2012!

Still waiting for all statements to come in so that I can have an exact figure to work from, but looks like I will be able to make a nice over payment in January. Snowball calculator says December 2014 but I am going try my hardest to clear as much as possible this year. Bring it on!

To be honest I would just give him what you've bought. He is old enough to understand that you dont have the money to throw about. If you see him before christmas day (or speak to your mum as I assume he lives at home) you can always say that you've had to cut back this year and you hope they understand.

Dont spend what you cant afford, they are your family and (usually) are not around just for what you can give them :)

  • Morning all, not long to go now til the big man comes eeeeek :D!!
I'm not sure if it's been missed or you haven't had chance to update yet but did you catch my new total of £1016/£8276? I put it up yesterday I think and Im #29 , thankyou.
I'm in a dilemma today...basically I'm in a council flat, up 14 concrete steps with two none walking babies, but I live in a village where all my (mum's) family live.
We are on council list to move to a 3 bedroom house but you have to bid on them, and one has come up in a nearby village.
Problem being it's on an estate where my dad's family all live (which means potential trouble!).
And my 80 year old great gran who currently lives up the road from me wouldn't be able to get there by bus, and shes here most days. We lost my great grandad last year and she gets terribly lonely on her own.
    I don't know what to do :(.
Anyway sorry for rambling, hope you are all kicking that debt up the preverbial.
