  • Morning all.

We all have days like that fairyface. I get so overwhelmed by the repayments but I am just trying to keep my eye on the debt free prize. Well done on the ebaying. We will all get there and this thread is so supportive, it has been a great help to me already.

Paid another £1.50 today - its going to be little bits from me until Christmas. £122.91/7873.87

  • Hey mf0u, the wall planner sounds like a great idea, and is also something that you will look at every day to help keep you focused.

I would love to join the weight loss challenge too, but I've got enough on my plate (boom boom!). Between my freelancing work and a day job behind a desk, finding time to do much more than walk the dog is hard enough!

It's payday on Tuesday so trying to map out my expenses and see what I can throw at my debt for this month.
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.

Hi guys I'm back , I was one of the first few to join this thread, full of determination , then I gave up, got depressed about it all again, my total was 40,000 to clear, but am going to start off again after christmas, I have been selling bit and bobs on ebay it has been fantastic, can't do much debt busting until the wages come in again at the end of month, so struggling as always until then, I am gonna buy a big diary/organizer, I think if I keep notes of things this will help me alot, as I said before I was spending about £400 a month on supermarket shopping, for 2 adults , 1 huge teenager, and a small dog, I have done really well this month and done about half that by going through cupboards and freezer, so next year reduced only, approved foods, and cooking/baking from scratch, I feel I can do it this time! I'm gonna beat the debt and not let it beat me, yay!!:j

Welcome back! I owe more than you, and like you find it overwhelming at times. This year I've pledged to clear £10K, which sounds huge but with our loan payments is actually easily (I hope!) achievable, and allows me to feel like I'm getting there without killing ourselves. Go easy on yourself, baby steps and we'll all get there in the end!

  • Hi thanks for all you kind words welcoming me back, today I have decided to go through all the rooms and clean & declutter, I have had a good go through the kitchen planned what we are going to be eating next week,I am now in the lounge and going to go through the mountain of celeb cookbooks I have, I am gonna type out my favourite recipes,I have found 3 nice folders and am gonna put them in there then sell the books. Also I think I am gonna meal plan too but that depends on the reduced items I can get from the supermarket. I have lots of plastic storage boxes in my shed full of catering size bags of pastry mix, sponge mix(not very good), flapjack mix, etc, loads of it, so I will work my way through that , does any one here use Approved Foods, and do you think it has helped saved a lot of money? Will keep checking back here how you are doing, its so inspiring, I am also getting addicted to the os board and found some good blogs which I now read daily, so I know I'm not alone. Will post again tommorow with my ramblings.:)

Perfect Jemma! I don't have to write my challenges out now! You've done it all for me! :T:T:T

I have seen an exercise DVD double pack from the Shredder herself that is Jillian Michaels I am going to purchase soon. I am part way through her 30 day shred and it's EXCELLENT! Highly recommended for a fast start and then a continuation if and when you need it.

I really need a diary too, I am starting an open uni course in Feb so i'll need it for that :T

Jakes-mum I feel your pain I think I've come down with tonsillitis/bronchitis even though I've had my tonsils out. Can't talk, feel rough and keep coughing.

Welcome back fairyface happy to see you again :-)

Suzitiger, it's been really quiet without you but glad to see you again.

Big hugs mf0u re:family issues, hope whatever the outcome that there's not too much hurt and anguish.

OH has just tidied up after the party in Wales and come upstairs to me going "look! Look love! Roadkill!!!" shown me a fist full of loose change, bless him. It's all gone into a sports bottle that he dips into when he's super skint, he had about £5 although apparently there was twice as much but he split it with his housemate.

He's driving us to London so I can rest on the way back. Going to grab some pastry and mnemeat as having friends over tomorrow evening, but cheaper to bake than to buy ;-)

No debt busting this weekend but also have spent very little. Winr be able to put anymore until Friday.

Re: Christmas pinch, I started my Xmas shopping in September and bought mostly online. This stopped me from magpie shopping in a rush going "ooh pretty pretties must buy buy buy" and I've felt a lot more in control than previous years :-) food shop has also been done online via veg box and mr W shop to stop me buying unnecessarily yay

I am sure there are lots more supermarkets that do similar things.

Asda do a similar scheme on a card. Morrisons do the Savers stamps.
