Well done everyone, we're all getting some good chunks of debt paid off already, and in the build-up to Christmas it's pretty impressive!
Got another chunk coming in next week, so should be able to push my percentage up a little more. Keep it up guys.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

Have just sorted things out with my housemate a bit, she was upset that I was stressing about money when she hadn't asked me to pay towards the door... but I tried to explain that I wanted to help her so when her bf said it would be no more than £100 I panicked as I knew I couldn't help out much towards that! Apparently I need to watch how I speak sometimes  which is definitely the case but I was pretty stressed out too!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

I'm at my parents and the cat has decided she's going to sleep under the covers whilst the other cat jumps at her, I don't see this lasting too long hopefully. Oh wait, no now they've decided they want to get in the wardrobe, the joys of bengal cats.

Well, I'm home and I'm drunk
After an evening of fun
And I'm feeling poetic
But there's work to be done
For each pound that I've spent
There's a price to be paid
Every whim and every pint
Every bill I've delayed
By no means I'm alone
Because I've found a throng
Of a hundred or more people
Who help each other along
We're facing up to our demons
Many years they have ruled
We'll be in control again
Don't let anyone be fooled
And when our work is done
We'll be happy as can be
Our bread will be ours
Our minds can be free
We'll be on top of the world
And on top of our affairs
We'll be free of constraints
And free of all cares
So with the small sacrifice
Of a brief frugal time
Every one of us will succeed
And we'll be feeling SUBLIME

he's an only child so doesn't understand my reasonings for wanting 2. Not being on their own, learning to share, standing up for one another etc, all key skills you learn earlier if you have a sibling.
Having company at home, being able to do kids stuff together instead of always being with adults, having someone to agree when your parents are being nuts, having a permanent friend, learning to fight with someone and then apologise, having close family around you for your whole life through, having someone to share the worry with when your parents are getting older, having the potential for nieces/ nephews if you don't have your own children... Kerri, I'm also an only, and I completely understand. Always wanted a sibling myself, though when I was little I did get to spend a lot of time with my cousins so that helped. I would prefer for my own child to have a sibling (though I'm 35 so if that's going to happen it better get started soon). But I do also sympathise with your OH as it is frankly true that the current population is unsustainable, at least without drastically adjusting resource use. If you wanted to propose a compromise you could adopt 2...Got really annoyed last night too, my flatmate was complaining cos she doesn't like her new boss because "she's young, intelligent and pretty, but its just favouritism". Sounds a lot more like jealousy to me! I should explain that my flatmate is one of those women who doesn't really like other women, especially if they are young and pretty. I didn't really have much sympathy cos I'm 25 and pretty ambitious, so I guess I expect that (if I achieve all I want) people will say the same about me (except the intelligent and pretty comments :rotfl:).
It goes on more than you'd hope. I've been really disappointed to find that once I got to a certain level, suddenly I was being accused of having had it easy or getting there by the wrong means. Which is odd since I've actually got to my successes by simply working my tail off and being good at what I do.PedroMatias wrote: »At the end of this, we're all going to be so tight! I'd suggest some kind of celebration, but nobody would buy the first round :rotfl:
:rotfl: but surely there would be a voucher arrangement of some sort...

Morning all, and happy weekend.
£6.00 for me this morning. Cant wait for Christmas to be over in one way so I can start making bigger payments. Have finally finished all the Christmas shopping. I am quite lucky I haven't had expensive shopping lists from the children but finding some of the things the children want has been a bit tricky. I havent set foot in a shop which I think is good going. I like buying things but I dont like going shopping!

well if anyone is watching how many times i keep checking Capital One website they will think i am stalking them:D statement for next month still not available so cant see how much balance has come down from what i have paid at the start of the month grr
mind i am also stalking eon for my next bill - it does say around 15th december but i keep checking it all the same, just in case its there early!
went Xmas shopping yesterday and i had a budget of £325 for everyone and fingers crossed its looking like it might come in at around £290:T
just need to go into town today and get the last few bits then its done. have felt a bit tight with DD as told her she had £150 this year and thats it. Bless her she was fine with that (for a 13yr old "but EVERYONE ELSE HAS THEM" girl). (although have budgeted another 25 that she doesnt know about for a couple of pressies to open that will be suprises) Although she will still do better than a lot of her friends as ExH is buying her an IPAD i mean i wouldnt buy her one even if i could afford it - more money than sense;)
so, today i am going to have to get a hair appt as i havent been for months and have toyed with the idea of growing it but i look a little like Ken Dodd on an off day so it just needs doing:mad:
First need to go to best friends to pick up pair of thick curtains (which were mine initially - we are very good at sharing between us:rotfl:) then on to dads to help him put up a curtain pole and hang the curtain for him.
so a busy day ahead - have a good one!:)Debt [STRIKE]Mar16 - £10,401eek[/STRIKE]: Jan 18 £4601 Paid off so far £5800 pay off 18 £1625

Am sad.
Have paid most of this month's CC's and got the statements with interest. Most of my payments have gone on interest, and worse than that, my Next bill came and there were £200 of spends on there that had missed the previous bill, so after interest and those, my balance is higher than it was the month before. I feel like we're slogging away, scrimping and saving and not even making much of a dent in our debt. Logically I know that if we keep on plugging away, the interest will reduce, albeit slowly and that eventually things will get better, but feeling very disheartened today.
:(:(
Anyway, my total is:
