Using a personal radio on a motorbike...

Anyone use one? Dab or FM - I'm not fussed.

Yes I know we're only allowed to listen through one ear'ole.

Would just like a recommendation please of a brand/model that someone has used with success. Usually read Amazon but the reviewers on there haven't used them on a bike.

Thanks folks.

Its not illegal to listen to music whilst riding a motorbike, else deaf people couldn't.
Quite often I'll wear my ear protection which are virtually total noise cancelling, sheer bliss.
If you have never done it before it can take a little getting used to especially as you lose the engine/road sound. It soon clicks into place mind.
I use my mobile and its MP3 facility, but I live and ride in an area where radio reception changes or disappears completely.

These are the dogs - Shure SE310 Earphones but not cheap.

I ride a RT1200 with electric screen so I can use the cheapo ones from Tesco (under £20).

I use an iPod Shuffle connected to an Autocom system on my bike, but there's no reason a radio couldn't be connected too.

Be aware that bikes are not as well shielded for interference as cars are, so you might pick up a lot of electrical noise - this is why I've gone for recorded music instead of a radio.

...and if you have a touch-screen iPod (Touch or Nano - the Nano has a radio built in) you can't work it when wearing your gloves.

I used an iPod classic for years as I couldn't maintain a signal on my radio.

Who said you are only allowed to listen in one ear? You can't get stereo in one ear, I have the Parrot sk4000, best thing I ever bought for the commutes, even answering the phone is no problem at motorway speeds.

Dunno read it somewhere and can't for the life of me remember where.

I would only listen in mono tbh. Would still like to have some feedback from the outside world - don't want to be completely cut off.

A good idea to be able to hear your engine and any warnings such as blues & two's, irrate drivers etc. Just turn your volume down a tad until you have the best of both for your need.

You do realise that it is illegal to listen to Phil Collins, Take That, NDubs, whislt riding motorbikes? (You can insert any other your own particular distastes)
