DFS leather sofa

We purchased the 'franklin' leather sofa in August, had it in the house since late October.
The sofa is all different shades, not massive differences, but its brown and the type of leather mean't it wasn't just one solid colour.
Its our first leather sofa and i thought leather didn't get any stains??
Now i know some harsh products might stain a sofa, but our leather sofa gets stains from everything.
Examples being so far:
1. Id had a bath and washed my hair, tied my hair up in a towel, sat down on the sofa and lent my head back, the slight dampness on the towel was enough to make that bit of the sofa change colour, to a darker brown.
2. Dog has a drink and some drops of water dripped onto the sofa, it stained it, water droplet marks, looks horrid.
3. When i use a slightly wet cloth to get any dust or dirt off, the colour comes off on the cloth.
4. A juice drink was spilt, (orange dilute with water), where it fell went a darker brown with a outline around it, no way what so ever will it return to its normal colour.
Should all the above things be happening? What can i do about it?
Do i contact DFS or is this normal and are products out and about i can use to stop it happening?

is it nubuck or saddle type leather? I have a sofa made from this and even fingers mark and water etc like you mention
if it is then this leather does discolour / stain and you cannot use the same products to clean it that you can for softgrain leatherBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -

Which means there is loose dye on the leather.
I work in a shoe shop so it may be different but leather is leather I think?
From your description it sounds like the dye didn't taken to the leather properly which is causing the staining and the colour coming off.
It doesn't matter thats its not one solid colour - that will just be the finsh of the leather I imagine.
You sometimes get some loose dye from leather once it has been dyed but it shouldn't be too excessive. What if this came out on your clothes? Thats not really acceptable and makes the sofa unfit for purpose in my opinion.
IS there a sofa in the showroom that you could take a look at to get a comparison?
Or a helpline number you could ring and ask for advice?
You could obviously contact the store and see what they say?
I hope you get it sorted.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
there are different types of leather that sofas are made from and if your is a more natureal / saddle type leather than it will not have the protection and durability of a softgrainBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0

From wikipediaNubuck is top-grain cattle rawhide leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side, or outside, to give a slight nap of short protein fibres, producing a velvet-like surface.
To me that says if the leather is smooth like normal leather it is the colouring they are describing as nubuck leather not the type.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I clean my leather sofas with baby wipes, so much easier0

I've just bought a leather sofa and was told not to use baby wipes. They have alkalines in to neutralise the urine on a baby's bottom, and the alkalines can break down the leather over time.
I was told to use just plain water and a soft damp cloth. Here I go again on my own....0
