Is there a way to make money from this?

I give out information about a niche subject which needs to be updated a few times a week, atm I just have a circle of friends/interested people who use this information but the numbers are growing and I would like to put it online and maybe earn some money from it, I wouldn't ever charge for the information but what would be the best way to earn some money from this?
I have in the past had a few sites (other subjects) with adsense on and although they got quite a few regular views (I didn't promote them in any way) hardly anyone clicked on the ads, also I'm not techie and the thought of setting up another site doesn't fill me with joy:o
I thought about Youtube as they pay per views but the info I use is numerical and not suitable for a video and I certainly wouldn't want to be online myself, unless anyone has any other ideas.
How about Facebook?, the format would be an ideal platform but how would I earn money when I'm not selling a product?
Twitter? I wasn't aware you can earn any money from twitter, googling suggests not.
Any ideas anyone?:)

Thanks, I've just had a quick look:), I'll have a proper read later.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

It takes a while, but Hubpages is worth the effort. I started using it to post info-blogs on certain subjects rather than for the money. I went to update a hub the other day and found I'd earned some money. One piece of advice. You need to keep posting new hubpages to keep people coming. You should also keep up-dating your hubs as info changes.
One of my most popular is one I wrote on surviving redundancy. This was written from personal experience rather than from researching what others had written. There is a good 'getting started' section for new Hubbers as well, so you don't mess things up totally.Never Knowingly Understood.

It's fairly easy to set up and use a wordpress site (so it's easy to add updates), and to add in some advertising. You said that you don't want to go to the trouble of setting up a site, but perhaps you could find someone who would set it up and update it for you, for a share of the revenue?
It's certainly something I'd be interested in trialling - see what the page views and clicks are like for a couple of months, and decide whether it's worth continuing.
Bear in mind though, that you're not going to make a ton of cash. I have just started a website with adsense, and with 60 page views a day, I make about 30p a day. It all adds up, but you need a lot of people looking at the site before the money is good.0 -
I've just had a read of how to earn money on Hubpages, it looks good but does seem to rely on people clicking ads again, I'm not sure people viewing the info I put up would bother to do that, they are not looking to buy anything just to get the information, is there any kind of system that would pay per views? Does anyone have an idea for getting the info on Youtube? (I've never used it before), its lists of numbers/financial info that is popular and growing which is why I want to try to start something online.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

If you get a system that's pay per view and you get hardly any clicks, then the provider will not be happy. If you get the information out to enough people, then they will click.
Putting it into Youtube sounds like an awful lot of effort. Do you really want to be editing and creating videos a few times a week?
The main other avenue would be a paid for service - people could pay a small amount (£5 a year?) to continue to get the updates. Bear in mind that this will scare people off though.
Is there any way that you could offer more information together? Offer a limited amount for free, then a subscription service to get the extra bits? That way you'll still get lots of people coming in and seeing the information.0 -

I've been down the wordpress route before and I have adsense and your right, I wont be making a ton of cash from it. Thats the problem I have, I wouldn't charge for the info but it would seem its becoming popular and I cant keep sending out emails all the time, its annoying me, so I'm looking for something that people can check online for free when they choose but because its popular it would earn me some cash.
If I did go down the route of a site I am fairly sure I would get someone to do it for me, I might need that anyway whatever I decide on unless its idiot proof and I get a sudden surge of patience;) techie stuff and I do not get on:DThank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

I think it's the best bet - if people can get something useful for free, then they'll have a positive impression, and if you offer more stuff at a smallish cost then there's a good chance they'll go for it.
Regarding the pay per view ads, it's been a good few years since I had anything like that, but if you want to look for it, google "CPM web advertising" or something along those lines. The only thing I'd add is that if you think you'll get enough clicks, then how is it going to differ from Adsense?
Another thought has just occurred to me. I've no idea what this information is, but if there's a physical object that's linked to it, you could try affiliate marketing. For example, if you're giving out info on the best places to fish, then you could use amazon affiliate links to some good fishing rods or lines. Then you get 5% of whatever they spend if they click through on your links.0 -

I'm refering clicks per view of my actual page not for people clicking on adverts, this is what happened before, people were viewing the site and liking the content so returning each day but not clicking on adverts (adsense)so minimal amount earned.

I was on a site this morning that has adsense on and they had a rather prominent banner up saying "Please click on our sponsers links to help support this site" is this allowed by adsense?Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0
