last time i went to Australia (sydney), I booked with Austravel. They were cheapest at the time. Worth having a look
  • Cheapest time is usually April-June. Its the Aussie winter then. Last flew to Brisbane August last year, did a lot of price hunting online and offline. Found Trailfinders offered the best deal at the time. Plus no hidden extra charges halfway through booking the flight on the phone like some other companies.

They have a Glasgow office if you prefer to deal with someone face to face.

    Cheers,

    Rob.

Our summer is their winter and so it's cheapest then.
What you should remember though, is the sheer size of the place, and that Brisbane, unlike Sydney, does not really have a 'winter' as we know it ! In this case it might not be as cheap to fly to Brisbane as say Sydney or Perth (which is nearer to Europe by miles ). Australia has their equivalent of easyjet, Virgin Blue and Jetstar (I think owned by Quantas), and they are always offering low cost flights within Australia.
It could be worth looking at getting the cheapest flight available to another of the big Australian cities and using the internal flight network, especially if you want to see more of Australia.
Flying between their big cities is a doddle and really cheap. Register on-line with Jetstar and Virgin Blue and the will e-mail any special offers to you.

Think there's a good sale on with Quantas at the moment, have a look at some of the Sunday Papers a few good companies advertise in that and just phone around.

Parent's have had a quote this week for flight to NZ and OZ around 8 flights in all for £960 each, flying in March. Think that included flight from Manchester to London return too.
  • I think now is good. Post xmas sales etc.
Just booked with Travelmood - they were great (or the person I dealt with was!).
Not cheap tho' - August - school hols!
Going to Brisbane (friends there too) via ahem, singapore, cairns, bris, syd, auck, LA then home!
