PC World/Rent Smart = Con artist scum bags!

Hi, Iv read the threads on here about PC World and Rent Smart but wanted to make a new one so hopefully it will deter people from shopping at PC World. What has happened to other people is exactly what has happened to me, PC World have lied to me and mis-sold the Rent Smart payment plan to me.
I went into the Grimsby PC World in February 2010 to buy a laptop and was talked into getting a laptop through Rent Smart, the woman made out it was the better option. She told me in the store that the contract will be for three years and at the end of three years I will own the laptop. Well I was thinking over the last week about it and realised that I should have just bought it because over three years I'm paying an absolute fortune and was really regretting it. So I rang Rent Smart up to find the exact date the contract is up and was shocked to be told it's a four year contract not three and I'll have to buy the laptop if I want to keep it! I was taken for a complete mug in PC World, the woman blatantly lied to me and it's my fault for not reading the contract but I stupidly trusted what she told me so when she shoved the contract in front of me, I signed it. Lesson learnt, all sales men & women are scum bags who will do anything to get their commission.
But the lies I was fed are consistent through out the country in PC World stores from reading others people experiences with PC World and Rent Smart. They tell everyone that the contract is a year less than it actually is and you will own the laptop at the end of the contract.
Iv rang Rent Smart and they just keep repeating that Iv signed the contract and PC World aren't interested over the phone so iv written a letter the PC World head office, they'll no doubt say the same thing. I can't believe PC World get away with this, conning honest customers into a payment plan that robs of you of a couple of grand and the thing isn't even yours at the end! PC World obviously train all their staff to feed customers the same lies and train them on how to con customers into signing a Rent Smart contract so they receive their commission. Disgusting!
I'm mainly writing this to maybe stop other people shopping at cowboy world!

Is this through a business account. Are you sure you would actually own the laptop as well, as have heard it is just a rental, and you would then have the option to buy the laptop or send it back.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

But it was your signature?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
It always amazes me just how many people slag PC World off and say that they were taken for a ride when they never read the agreement terms. Seriously, who is to blame? You can say until you're blue in the face what a bad person the advisor was but you singed it and didn't read it, if you did you wouldn't be moaning now.0

I went to sign as a guarantor on a friend's rent agreement yesterday. They were surprised, as someone had already been in to sign the day before.
Please, people, read what you are signing!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

So in fact the thread should be titled "This is what happens when you're stupid and don't read something before signing it."0

Speak to your local trading standards / citizens advice as potentially it is an unfair contract / missold. Unfortunately the mass of small print is what these companies hide behind, is it reasonable to expect some one to read the entire contract in a busy store, with a pushy sales rep and queue behind you?
Sadly when I am confronted by such blurb, I do insist on a chair and sit and read the lot. If more people did they may well desist in this nonsense. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -

So you think it's ok for a sales person to blatantly lie to you about a contract they want you to sign? Just because the truth is written in small print?
Like I said, yeah I am an idiot for not reading the contract but I didn't expect to be conned in a big chain like PC World, and what has happened to me has happened to hundreds of people up and down the country. The same lies, it's almost like staff members are being trained to to con customers in PC World.
But yeah, iv learnt my lesson and i'll always make sure i read what i sign in future.0
