lines on pc screen

my pc screen has got small thin colured stripes on half of it & a black blurry edge round the stripes.cant acsess the shut down logo so had to turn it off with the power button then tried turning on again but still the stripes are there any help out there :mad:

If you can restart the PC, either the way you shut it down before and then tapping the F8 key just after pressing the start button until you get options, to choose safe mode, let it load to the desktop and see if the lines are there.

If not, you could re-install the graphics driver

Try adjusting the screen position using the buttons on the monitor, if you can shift the image up/down/left/right, and the bars move with the image, it's a graphics card/driver issue. If the bars do not move (revealing things as you adjust the position), it's a screen issue.

If it's graphics card/driver, and updating/re-installing the driver doesn't work, your graphics card may be faulty. What are the system details/did you do anything to change the graphics card settings?
