Clickfree C6 Auto Backup Problems

Hi

I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some help with my crashed pc.

Model:Sony Vaio VGC-LM2E
Processor: Intel R Core 2 Due CPU
OS:Windows Vista Home Premium

The desktop crashed a couple of weeks ago, and briefly a message popped up just before warning about memory usage. Fortunately a day or so later the problem seemed to resolve itself as I was able to use it again.

Aware that this was probably going to happen again I purchased a Clickfree C6 Automatic Backup after channel hopping and came across it via QVC TSV. Having watched the presention I thought it would be ideal for me especially as I'm no techie wiz.

In a nutshell after using/failing on my pc I contacted QVC tech support and Clickfree support in Canada, who were totally hopeless and who's advice caused my desktop to crash and wiped my HD. As it stands now I can't get up windows, and it's not accepting the system restore discs. it shows the Windows Error Recovery page with choice of options (tried all) but it just keeps going around in circles. The background is black with what I can best described as columns of blue barcodes.

Don't know where to go from here, can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks

the corrupt screens sound hardware related, ie overheating/failing graphics card/chip, do you have access to an external monitor to try.

it's unlikely to cure it, but do you have the means to try a reinstall, and do you need any data from it?

I don't have an external monitor unfortunately, just the laptop I'm using now. I have 3 system restore discs which I previously tried to use but didn't seem to work, so unsure if its discs or pc. I'm pretty sure everything has been wiped when I tried to do a restore with the clickfree agent.

  • This has to be one of the worst pieces of kit I've ever bought. Can anyone suggest how I can remove the C6 programme, use the drive for storage, and so recoup some of my losses ?
