Query about the cheapest tariff to go with for Electic Central Heating
I recently got an electric central heating system installed as there was no option of getting gas in my area. Because I previously had storage heaters, I was on the Economy 7 tariff with EDF which is no use now. I was hoping I could get some advice on what tariff I should go with now. The Economy 10 tariff appears to only offer offpeak from 1-3pm and 8-9pm in my area. Or someone suggested that I just get a normal meter so that the unit price is the same at all times of the day.
I am getting so confused regarding tariffs and meters and my current supplier EDF, and the meter owner (Southern Energy) have been no help at all.
Thanks for reading,
Craig

Electric central heating will cost you a lot more at about double than your storage heaters ever did. Storage heating on E7 5p per unit. Electric heating on a standard tariff is 10p per unit.
Go onto a standard tariff if you can...unless it's ScottishPower which for some reason is cheaper to stay on E7 as the peak rates are lower than the standard rates.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
