If you live in the Thames corridor, outside the Inner London postcodes, then your energy comparisons may be incorrect because you have been placed in the wrong gas region for your postcode.
I have raised the matter with one of the comparison sites but the problem appears to be common to all four I have tested. The UK Power comparison site responded as follows :-

The gas prices charged by suppliers could therefore be different to those quoted by comparison sites This could work in your favour but it may not, so you might want to check before switching.Thank you for your email which we found very interesting. We haven’t come across one house in two regions before so hopefully the suggestion below will help.
There are a couple of points.
1. To select a different region, use XXXXXX as your postcode and this brings up a map which you can select from. Do a dual fuel comparison but select gas only on the results table. This produces a list of gas results in the region you require.
2. When it comes to dual fuel, this is not so easy because it seems you have one supply in one region and the other supply in another. The only thing we can suggest is to do another comparison in the electricity region and look out for the tariffs which show dual fuel discounts. By reviewing the information details and taking in to account the two different regions, you should be able to narrow down the choice to the best tariff.
I hope the above helps.
