Prepayment card for charity?

Hi,
I work for a charity (pre-school) and we need some way of allowing our snack assistant to purchase food from local outlets without having to claim back expenses. In the past we have just given an advance to the snack assistant by BACS, but we would prefer to have some sort of card that they could purchase with. Could someone enlighten me as to whether a pre-payment card would be the best way forward or whether there is an alternative vehicle I should be considering.
Many thanks.

Who do you bank with? I'd start by asking them. An alternative might be a credit card. Either way you'd need a system for her to submit receipts / detail what she had spend the money on with her monthly statements.

How much does she usually spend? Be aware that prepayment cards are usually processed like a credit card, so you may come up against minimum payment limits.

There will be costs with this. As an example, we pay £2 per card per month for our work Visa cards, supplied by the Coop because we bank with Unity Trust. But I think there are also business prepayment cards out there.

    Thanks for your reply.
We bank with Santander. I'll drop them an email about it.
Generally, the spend on the food/cleaning stuff is around £100 per month, so, if you take into account the cost of running a credit card or prepayment card, it doesn't look as if it will be worth it. It was worth a thought though.
