Item not received or refunded

Hi there

I need some advice. I had to order some customised uniforms for my business back in September. I had a tight deaine so emailed a company asking if they could do it in time - they said it would be no problem so I placed the order, and asked them to let me know if things were running behind so I could get a temporary alternative.

I heard nothing - I emailed a few days before it was due to arrive and had no response. It didn't show up - I emailed again but this was ignored so had to buy last minute replacements.

A few days after it should have arrived, I emailed again saying I just wanted to know where they were - I explained I was pretty angry as it had put me in a difficult situation but I wasn't rude.

His response was shocking - all in caps and insulting me, telling me to "go and moody to someone else" (whatever that means). He said they were too busy for my order and would refund me the next day.

That was 2 months ago - despite contacting them several times, I haven't had a refund or the items.

I've run out of ideas - is there anything I can do to get my money back?I found other similar complaints online so I'm clearly not the only one, and I'm really angry about it - I don't want to just let them get away with it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

gonna be a case of doing small claims i reckon.....
  • Thanks, that's what I thought - it's not a huge amount of money, it's just galling to let him get away with keeping it. I'll look into small claims and take it from there.
  • I'd advise sending a final recorded delivery 'letter before action' first & give a timescale to resolve the problem.
If they don't resolve the issue then go ahead with the action.

    How did you pay?

You can file a chargeback for non-receipt of goods for upto 120 days after the transaction AFAIK

Small claims is lengthy, requires an inital outlay with no guarantee at the end of it. So where possible i'd avoid it where possible.

I've also used in the past debtcollectoronline.com to send a LBA with exceptional success
