newlyn refunded my by mistake
Hi there i was wondering if you could please assist me
i was clamped by newlyn on friday for unpaid parking tickets in Brent it was one ticket - i had already sent a check to brent council but it was late and they have not cashed it so i knew i was in the wrong - i paid 300 cash and 291 on my card as i did not have all the money in my account - the baliff was very nice and drove me to the bank - I am heavily pregnant so he felt quite sorry for me i think. the money i paid on my card has been refunded on my card for some reason and now the baliff has called and left a vmail on my phone- do i need to contact him and pay it back or will this go away? i dont want to pay the £291 - if i can i could send cheques do you think that will be okay?

your bailiff was not being nice he should not have escorted you to the bank as a heavily pregnant woman you may/should be classed as vulnerable according to the national standards for enforcement agents 2002
well for a kick off £591 is far to much to paying for one parking ticket
how many visits have the bailiff made to your home and left a hand delivered letter informing you of there visit
you should also have received a posted letter from newlyn tell you they had been instructed to collect the PCN
were you aware of the PCN before the bailiffs visit (have you moved home recently )
give these people a call its a premium rate phone number and it will cost you approx£10 but its the best advice you will get anywhere

thanks for the quick responce - it was my first post on here so I was not sure how it was going to work - you have been hepful I will check the website and give the number a call - hopefully i wont have to pay the money pack -
I was aware there was a PCN but i had sent a cheque to pay it off and it was not cashed, I should have chased it but i was hoping it would go away0 -
So you did originally pay your fine but they did not cash it nor was it returned to you. Definately a call to bailiffeadvice etc this is right up her street and will be well worth the money.
You could also post this onto pepipoo.com as Herbie trawls there as well.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
