How much to replace taps

Hi,

How much should it cost to replace four mixer taps in the Chessington/Kingston area.

1. Kitchen sink tap
2. Batroom sink taps (2 )
3. Bathtub tab.

thanks

I think the correct answer is "how long is a piece of string?" :)

Are you supplying the replacement taps, or will they be included in the cost estimate you're after?
That makes a huge difference - taps range from about £15 for a pair of cheap basin taps, or £25-30 for an Aldi special mixer tap, to hundreds of pounds.

Also how hard/easy it is to get to the fittings to replace them makes a big difference - if the plumber can get to them easily, and shut off the water "local" to the tap he's working on he might be able to do all four in an hour or so, if he has to struggle to reach the taps (as is often the case), and can't turn off the water locally* it could take an hour+ per tap.

I know for example when I replaced the taps in our downstairs loo basin it took about 20 minutes, as they were easy to get to and I was able to turn off the water near them (so only a couple of meters of pipe needed to empty).
When I did the Kitchen sink mixer a while back it took me about an hour of cursing and muttering as I was on my back with my head/shoulders inside a cupboard trying to undo a nut about an eighth of a turn at a time as that was all the space I had to move the spanner/wrench.

*A lot of older houses don't have valves prior to the taps, but require you to turn off the main water and possibly drain the tank, or use a pipe freezing kit (one of the main things on my plumbing "checklist" when we redid our kitchen was to put isolator valves in for the taps).

in your area you will be lucky to get a plumber for less than 200 quid. for any job.
    labour only.

you might get a handyman for half that cost.
    Get some gorm.
