On Incapacity Benefit, received P45 with no letter?

Hi,

I've been on IB for a while. On Saturday, I recieved a P45 in the post from the DWP. No letter accompanying it, just p45(u) part 1a, p45 part 2 and p45 part 3.
Apparently my "leaving date", and "date benefit ceased" was 26/01/2011...
I hadn't opened it on the saturday as my Grandfather had died the evening before and I couldn't cope with sympathy cards let alone bills etc.

I receive no other benefits. My partner was receiving contribution based JSA until the end of August I think, but he let them know the second he found a new job.

I don't understand :( Why would they send me this? Does this mean they are stopping my benefits with no warning? I'm so confused, I can't phone them and have to wait until my partner can help me, but just want some sort of idea as to what could be happening :(

Does anyone have any ideas?

I wish they had sent some sort of letter with it..

Has anyone else had the same?

Have you received and completed an ESA50 as part of the transfer of IB claimants tp ESA? If you are, have you received a decision letter?

If you are not being moved then you need to ring the DWP for an explanation.

Thankyou, no I have received no other communication in the recent months, and certainly no forms to fill in! I can't cope with this on top of everything else:(

Your best bet is definately to ring them to find out whats going on. As long as there hasnt been any sort of change of circumstance that you havnt told them about its unlikely they would disallow your benefit without an explanation.

Thankyou, I can't wait until my partner is home to help with calling them. There has been no change in circumstances apart from my partner starting a new job so desperately hoping its some sort of error...

Your partner getting a job shouldnt change anything on an IB only claim, this would only affect you if you were receiving Income Support as well as IB.

Thankyou very much for your help. Turns out the P45 was sent in error...

I'm relieved for myself but hoping that others haven't had the same thing, or there will be a lot of very anxious wrecks up and down the country!
