My last chance to go through budget today. Really need to shave off just about anything i can then stick to it. Hopefully in 12 months time i will have paid off £13.5k business loan and have £15k saved up for house deposit. One thing i need to do is get a new contact for my phone, mine can cost £46ish...im sure i could get by on a package for £15. Doesnt seem much but £300+ a year extra into deposit fund.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
  • Hey, i just phoned orange and suspended my contract for 6 months means nothing to pay penalty or bill wise for 6 months will just be on pay as you go for about £5 a month instead!!! saving of over £40 a month!! might be worth looking into?

please could you add my name to the challenger list
I fell off the wagon last year, but want to throw myself in from the start this year as I do have quite a lot of debt and am single with 2 DD's......
I love being thrifty, however teenage girls and thriftyness don't seem to mix well, so could really use all the moral support I can get...... Thanks.

OH not happy with me.. we currently pay £32.85 a month for gym membership for him.. and he does not go.. the max 1-2 times a month and lots of months not at all. So i thought it would be better to put that money in a pot each month and let him use it pay as you go.. and if he picks up and goes more will set up the membership again.
    What do you think?
  • Evening all. I havent fallen off the frugal wagon, but am rubbish at posting, sorry. Please can I join for next year. Whilst I dont have a set budget (my boss will tell you I am rubbish at spreadsheets) I tend to take FULL advantage of bargains that come my way, and I need to be better at sharing those experiences. This year has been an eye opener for so many people........... especially those who thought they would never have to be frugal so perhaps I can help in a small way by offering some of experience.

Thanks frankie  thing is we have a baby due in january ..im gunna be in hospital for a week.. hes gunna be mega tired.. and on top of that the whole house needs decorating and restoring..plus he works very long hours so he really cant get there.. he just likes the idea. Ive told him we should start walking the kids to school.. only a few streets away but free.. and that alone will kill us to start with lol he works 2 weeks a month on late starts so can get out to have some fresh air..

Sounds like a great idea to me. I have also decided not to rejoin when my gym membership comes up. We pay annually a joint membership which I save for so we have the money to pay in all in one go - that way we do get a 15% discount but it still amounts to £70 per month. Told OH last night that the £70 would be getting redirected towards the Save 12k in 2012 challenge and that we would not re-join in Sept 2012. He never goes but still wanted to save up just in case! No chance. I go more often but am happier if I am outside walking so will do that instead.
