Hi all
Still frugally away here. All my tax credits sorted now thank goodness!
I have had the water company out to see if I can have a meter fitted and I can't but they can put me onto assessed charges which will hopefully save around £25 a month. Also going to get my electricity key meter taken out.
Just looked up oil prices, wow they have gone up! Need to get a tank full though so will ring around.
Off camping on Monday for 3 nights, going to do lots of baking at the weekend to take with us.
Car broke again a few days ago, ex-husband kindly looked at it and has hopefully fixed it for a bit longer, need to start really saving for a new one though. Living in a rural area I can't do without a car!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
Keen to live a healthly lifestyle and save money0 -

Afternoon All. Another non-frugal weekend for me. Need to have a wee read over this thread and my Tightwad Gazette to remotivate myself.
Heading away this weekend to Aberdeen for my husbands birthday. Did manage to get the £29 Premier Inn rooms but need to get organsed with vouchers for eating out. We will not be having the breakfast in the premier inn as it is very expensive so may try and get organise to take something up for the room to have breakfast there - probably the easiest is would be cereal, milk, bowls, fruit juice, fruit.0 -

I've pledged to read something from the Tightwad Gazette everyday! Even if the next passage isn't directly relevant to me at that moment it still helps to keep me on the straight and narrow - well, that's the theory anyway! I love the book0 -
I have the day to myself today which is a nice treat.
My niece Emma is back to nursery today and she will be popping in for a visit. Last time she came we got her a bag of choc buttons from the shop - I was shocked that they were 60p !
Today we have orange squash for her and she can have some of the Lidl chocolate that we stocked up on when it was 17p during their half price weekend.
Other frugal plans today:
I am going to have a wander around some of the charity shops. I am looking for fabric that would make good bunting.
Dinner is already made - meatballs with sauce.0 -

Hi All, hope everyone's frugal efforts are paying off.
I am looking forward to my Aberdeen trip this weekend. I still need to get organised with breakfast stuff to take up - will pack this tonight I think in a plastic crate.
I was in Mr T yesterday and discovered their cheaper card range - from 50p to £1.50. There was a good selection so I stocked up for the vaious birthdays I have coming up over the next few months. Cheapest I bought was 50p and they had a really nice variety of different designs, some with the handmade feel. In total I spent £5 for all the birthday cards I need over the next few months.0 -
Not been on here for ages as have had loads of life 'stuff' going on and life has been very difficult. However, onwards and upwards and a big thanks to all you peeps on here who have given me the motivation to get back on track:T:T:T
On the plus side I have managed to have some work done on the house which badly needed doing and I have managed to pay for it ALL with money saved and not had to go into the bank account for a single penny! A major acheivement by my standards:j:j0 -
I've really enjoyed reading this thread. I can't do some of the things unfortunately as I live in a flat but I can other things!
