Ohh I know how this feels! I have a mate and when we went on a night out just as we were about to enter the bar, would bend down and tie her shoe lace, or go to the lav and yell, 'I'll have a lager, pint of please'..... as she wondered off until one day as we neared the pub I said 'Oh must just fasten my lace, I'll have a lager....etc...' Yep you've got it she actually got a round in. She would do the same when it was her shout in the round (there use to be 5 or 6 of us) and I once commented...'Just leave us your dosh and we will get the round in as we are all gagging...' yep her jaw dropped but she left the dosh....... and that pint didnt arf taste grand granville!

Thanks Rising.. am so happy to have found you people.. its all very inspiring xx:)
Hope everyone is doing good.. i have a situation, every time me or OH go out with someone we end up buying drinks but its not returned lol.. weve only just noticed, but no one seems to dip in there pocket, and there is a silence and lack of motivation to pay for anything in the hope that we will. Its not like you can sit back and wait.. it would be embarassing, but its kinda got to stop really. How does everyone else deal with this? i would give anything i own to loved ones and close friends, but find its becoming a little expected.. and i feel too akward to wait for them without sounding mean. Hope this reads rightxx

Hi,
I allways love reading the 2011 thread, so 2012 i would like to join pease...
We have cut back, and cut back over the last few years... but in 2012 we want to try and push ourselves to go that bit further.... extreme frugalism:eek::rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Me and my friends always have a 'whip' for drinks - much fairer to all. I doubt very much if your friends could come up with a good excuse not to do this if you suggested it.
Most people are quite happy to sit back and let someone else take the burden, but very few would argue the case for it if fronted out!0 -

If anyone wonders why I eat chips, I eat them when out and about because they are cheap and I can't eat wheat/gluten so sandwiches are out for me. And I eat chocolate because I am greedy and I love the taste
.
To combat the chocolate spends I have bought a jar of hot chocolate mix and will have a drink of this once a day lol, I love it just before bed.
My house is expensive to heat, so I will spend as much time in the warm library as I can through the winter. I did this last year and enjoyed it. Town is only a few minutes away so no paying bus fares/car parking charges/petrol. I'm trying to hang onto my car as long as possible, I need the car but it's very pricy. I can't get rid of it because my mum has been diagnosed with bowel cancer and lives 17 miles from me, and I am the one who picks her up, takes her to hospital appts. and then takes her home. She has transferred to the hospital in my town and will pay my petrol.
Hope nobody minds me waffling on
Merry Christmas x
I felt like I had to justify this with some of my whoopsie spends the other year with my disability. You know when I'm sick (sure I've said this before:eek:) I can't even cross a road never mind do a spreadsheet...
Ever tried to time and cook a meal (decent) for yourself with two 8 year old dancing round the kitchen and nipping your head with rude comments? That was me on Friday - only they were voices...Needless to say the meal was barely edible and all the timings were wrong. But I hadn't had enough to eat that day so knew I needed it and 8 year olds or not (brats) I was determined to cook something....But still it could have been dangerous.... Fortunately I get them when stressed these days or not eating enough. But I remember the other year when I could hear what sounded like a dishwasher for days on end and complained to the council etc but it was just in my head. I only realised after spending a sleepless night in my tent in a park (having bolted - that wasn't cheap) that this was in my head....
Not saying yours is any worse.....but if jolly well keep the car for as long as you can - for Ma's sake!!!!...Please....and like don't beat yourself up about the chips. You have to eat hun
Hugs
