  • I agree about this thread moving fast. I have spent the past few days playing catch up again.......

Got my first order in for AF they had plenty of Gluten Free stuff so this will be delivered to me on Monday. Can't wait only cost me £16 inc postage.

Took ds to see the insurance companys expert so he can report on his back following accident about 20 months ago. The form they gave us to complete was useless, not enough space for relevant information etc. Mr expert worked from this form. On which I had stated DS is on the autistic spectrum. Mr expert asked ds why he always looked at me before he answered his questions. Then said he only wanted answers as he asked the questions, so I shut up as told:rotfl:. He then looked at form and said "Oh yes I see" He then asked him to score his pain at certain times in the past year or so from 1 to 10. Not a concept an autistic person may relate to at the best of time. He then said if he could not respond to the question he would not be able to write the report, and looked quite frustrated. I asked DS a couple of questions and quickly established was a 7 now a 3. Apparently DS shouldn't have any backpain related to accident now, it is his poor posture:cool: When we left DS said to me "That didn't go very well, did it":rotfl:. So bought DS a well earned BK meal and then came home. I will eagerly await the report:p

What does this have to do with Frugal Living. Precisely nothing as it cost me a BK meal. Not very Frugal:o

My oh my that was the most amazing cobble ever even I do say so myself.

Pasta with panfried lurking reduced spring onions and pancetta with vine tomatoes and lurking olives stuffed with feta and pimentos and melted reduced creamy Stilton with fig compote and a dash of lurking double cream.

    Yum yum yum!

  • Saving I am still ongoing with my case and it has been over 2 years  they are still trying to get out of it and I was not even moving so how they can deny fault is anyone's guess.

Rising You will soon look like a pin cushion x

    mrs midd well done ;)

And a big well done to the rest of the you tube warriors :rotfl::rotfl:

I sat and wrote a list last night of all the things I need to do. Got up early, cleaned the cat pen as the electrics have been done and only a few things to do until I get my first foster baby :D.

Chest freezer was delivered damaged  a great big dent in the top and it has gone through to the metal so would rust very quickly. The customer service has been terrible and I think the manager must be dog tired as she was supposed to ring as soon as she was out of her meeting and it is now nearly 9 and still no call. So far it must be an 11 hour meeting :p I am annoyed as I have a freezer I can't use and no indication of when they can get me another. We have been messed about over the delivery date from the beginning and the girl on the phone is the most unhelpful person I have ever spoken to.

I would go as far as saying they are worse than talking to Virgin Media :rotfl::rotfl:

Cleaned the house, fetched DGD from school, cleaned fermenting bins and bottles for homebrew, been to the recycling place to take all my glass bottles and combed the cats.

I have also ordered some boots for £100 :o:o:o I know this is expensive but I have had such problems with my back and spent two months this year unable to leave the house so I NEED some decent comfortable everyday boots and all the boots I have are either heeled or steel toe caps with paint on :rotfl:. My last pair lasted me 8 years so not bad if you work it out over that time :p

Here I go a waffling again

    PIC x

forgot to say I got nothing done on my list!!

Thanks for the warm welcome all. I'm aiming ideally to spend no more than £30 a week on groceries, cat food and toiletries. So far this week only £10 spent so off to a good start. Am picking up as many tips from you all as possible and getting a wealth of advice by reading these threads. I've really got into the mind-set of not wasting a thing, especially when it comes to food. Almost threw away an ageing tomato yesterday but then realised I could chop it up and add it to my home-made tomato sauce for pasta. Okay, so I didn't save any money as I didn't need to buy the tomato for the sauce, but just generally being less wasteful is soothing to my soul and also reducing the budget slowly but surely.

Hope I can keep it up!

  • Second Hand Washing Machine now installed and now working :j
But only after having to do a bit of a DIY job with the plumbing - since I had to ask a friend if we could borrow them & van to collect new machine and move & remove the old washing machine I cheekily asked if we could remove the dated and non working dishwasher that has been sat in kitchen for past 4 years, which was fine,so both broken washing machine & dishwasher were duely removed.:Tat the cost of a cuppa & catch up chat.
But then I had the problem that under the sink I had to "tap" off the outlet/inlet that the dishwasher hose was attached to - I thought I bought the right screw top but need to return it - so I had to do an emergency DIY job by using the thrumb part of a rubber glove I bust the other day over the pipe I need to seal - and it works:T

But I promise to buy the proper "thingy" when I go to town.

Sorry to all plumbers out there I have no idea what the correct terminology is for the part ,only know in my head what i need if you get my drift:o.
