Has anyone heard about GIANT Client? They claim to buy gas and electricity collectively to get the best price?

Is that Alison Marotta the Project Director of the said company ? I would have thought you would no more than anyone here about your own organisation.

I'm all for trying something new and trying to save money but when just having a look at the website it says:
" 946 households registered "
Yet also says :
" By signing up to GIANTClient you are joining thousands of others who have registered to save money on their utility bills."
I wonder which is correct ?

not sure how it would work as have to be licensed to sell gas etc, with water there is no choice at present also there is of course the issue of individual ability to pay and existing debts in some cases -I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

The general idea is not good but excellent, many buying co-op's have been started over the last several years and have been more than successful in bringing own the cost of utilities supply. They do however have three drawbacks and they are (1) you are usually tied to one single provider and (2) it only seems to work in isolated communities and (3) it can divide as well as unite communities.
An example, would be a large village with three satellite villages in close proximity, they club together and form a buying co-op, the nominated head then approaches 3 or more suppliers of gas / oil / electricery and then contract for all say 10,000 homes in the area to be supplied by the one single exclusive provider at a substantial discount. How this model [ in reality ] would even begin to translate into the O/P's suggested scheme I've no idea, in theory its not a problem to multiply it nationally, in practice however 99% of this islands population do not live in rural communities .. .. ..Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
