Seabrooks goodbye salt hello flavour crisps

Options
just bought a multibag ..jacket potato with creamy butter.
Without a doubt the worst crisps i have ever tasted!
Overwhelmingly sweet with a raw potato taste.
Will be throwing the whole six bags away! :(

Actually I liked them when I got to try them this year. Your description is fairly accurate but did cater for my sweet tooth (a promo was running with coupons so got to try them for Free). If they weren't so high in Weight Watchers points I would elect to buy them when they are on offer (not at £1.99 for 6 bags though). I wouldn't throw them away though. There must be someone you can give them too!
    The end is nigh

Becareful - some people on weight watchers have calculated the points based on the nv of the flavour sachet and not the crisps!

Agreed! I bought some earlier this year when they first came out and both DH and me thought they were revolting. In fact, I rang up their Helpline to tell them what I thought - they said they hadn't had any other adverse comments but they sent me a box of 12 packs of their 'normal' crisps to make up for it.

  • I didnt pay full price, thankfully. Only picked em up coz they were on offer.
Guess I'll give them out to people in work. Will at least get a laugh at their reactions!:laugh:
Wonder if i should ring the helpline see if they may replace them with their normal crisps.
  • They are the worse crisps I have ever tasted especially the butter ones they are rank. Shame because Seabrooks are as a whole one of the best on market much better than Walkers

PS I know I got walkers as avatar I like Branstone crisps
  • Seabrooks have always been better, and Golden Wonder, than Walkers, but then Walkers came up with that huge marketing campaign years ago and we've been stuck with them since! I wonder if it's me or if anyone else has noticed a reduction in flavour and savouriness of crisps of late - I think it's a cost-cutting exercise on the part of the manufacturers. It's why I don't buy them much any more, or nuts or other savoury snacks as they've gone the same way. When I want that sort of thing, I'd like it as it's meant to be - salty, tasty, distinctly savoury!
  • I bought a mixed bag of them as they were on offer, can't say I liked them much and wondered if it was the lack of salt in them? Wont be buying them again!

Obviously an unfashionable point of view, but I thought they were quite nice-all of them.

But I have been on a salt-free diet for three years, so maybe my tastebuds have adapted to the lack of salt?

I've been on a salt-free diet for about 40 years and still found them disgusting! A shame, as I thought they'd make a change from standard unsalted crisps but they were far too sweet. I also sent Seabrooks a feedback E-mail but simply got a very dismissive reply.
