My husband and I are late 60s. We have spent the last 3 months in Spain and want to buy a villa there. Our present home Value £280,000 has been on the market for 6 months and because it is in a flood risk area it is not selling, we planned to buy a place in spain and a flat here in U.K. We do have some investments but would have to use these to fund our lifestyle.
We wondered whether we would be able to get a re-mortgage, to fund the property in spain and keep our present home. WE have looked at equity release schemes but they seem a rip off.
Advice would be appreciated.
