Too good too be true Ebay item

I just need a bit of advice really.

I have just bought a Lego item on Ebay that seemed to be too good to be true so I checked the seller out and it is a private seller so I can not check feedback. I checked completed listings and they have sold a number of items that equally have sold for very low prices the following being one of them 150698726490.
Have I been scammed or am I being over cautious?

I'm very confused, why do you think that you may have been scammed?
  • Looks fine to me....am thinking he/she doesn't understand feedback settings.....but all positive so far and high DSR.

Hmm, private feedback so the seller can no longer list anything for sale. Stock photos- so potentially a problem as seller is wrongly registered as a private seller.

if anything I would suggest a hacked account- although as long as you paid by paypal you will be fine if nothing arrives. If this is a scam I would suspect you will get a bag of Lego that you will have difficulty in checking is complete. Stock photo shows new item, listing says 'used'- but then none of that was hidden when you bid.

Have just seen that the item location is Oxford & yet the seller is in Italy.

He's also somehow managed to get 20 FB in just 3 days, it doesn't look as though they've bought anything, so yes this may very well be a dodgy sale.

That's what I thought,so I do not know if it will be coming from Italy, also they have only been registered for 3 days so how could you get 20 excellent feedbacks in that time?

By buying items that are being sold purely to gain feedback. So when they sold to you the feedback would have shown it all as being from other sellers- now they have sold enough goods they hide the feedback so you can't check how they got it.

If the FB is private can you not see either on Goofbay or advanced search on ebay what they've bought? Both of them are saying that nothing's been bought on that account.
It's 20 seller ratings, but has only sold 9 things.
I'm being really more stupid today than I normally am.

OP I take it that it was immediate payment?
If it doesn't arrive then open a case as soon as you can.
  • I didn't notice the location ambiguity, goofbay has a lot of £40 ish sales of Lego.....is this expensive/cheap for Lego? I have no idea.

    I am goofbaying now...
