the one i bought off ebay (cannot find any more postings now - must be all gone) was from oxfam - the invoice, etc was for oxfam - and it told you in the posting it was the genuine article and not to bid over 99p as they had thousands in stock, hence i got it for 99p and £1 postage................
i have tried getting the other bands from the proper outlets but they have all sold out - hence, i have resorted to buying from ebay, but, will not pay more than £3 (including postage).....it is the latest craze and my daughter absolutely must have them, ahaha - you know what kids are like.........0 -
I think this particular band can be had from Oxfam shops and my daughter's school was selling them last week for £1 being Comic Relief week. Had they done a specific Comic Relief one it would have gone down very well with the kids.0

is it just my lack of knowledge but is the rage not the rubber white bands. the bands in this link are white cotton with clasp. Is this not slightly misleading people into thinking they are buying the so called "trendy" white bands? Can anyone shine some light on this?happiness is being able to have one more drink0

Just a few comments.
1. Get the bands from the charities, the ones on e-bay are probably shonky and the charity will see no money.
2. Gift-Aid the money. Basically this means the charity can claim back basic rate tax (28p in every pound) from the government so you give a pound, they get £1.28. If you pay higher rate tax, you can then claim the other 12p on your tax return (trust me this mounts up if you are a regular giver).
3. The bands are IMHO a great idea. As someone already said, they give free advertising to the charity and prompt conversations about the charities, whilst also giving you something nice and trendy to wear. I'd rather have a couple of bands round my wrist advertising something worthwhile than advertise lacoste, adidas, nike etc. and pay through the nose to do so.
There are many wothwhile charities doing these bands, search around and you can find all sorts at reasonable prices.
For example. Tearfund, Lance Armstrong Foundation, Breast Cancer Awareness, Stand up Speak up (Anti-Racism Charity)0
