Moorcroft

I have had probs with moorcroft. stopped the dd to them and have sent numerous emails to them with all the info they need including my reference number and the amount that i will be paying them over four years rather than 210 over six months
i not awnswering their calls as they are rude to speak.
any hints and is it a good for me to keep all emails etc to demonstrate that i have been trying to resolve the issue. Maybe its because i have asked them for paying slips..
regards

Places like this will generally ignore emails (especially if its something they don't want to hear). I'd suggest you send a letter to them (recorded delivery so they cannot deny receiving it) telling them that you can only afford £x per month and either telling them you have set up a standing order for that amount - or if you don't have their details asking for their bank details so that you can set up a standing order.

If you had a DD previously to them watch out for them setting it back up again after you've cancelled it.

  • Write to your bank to ensure the Direct debit is cancelled!! That way you ensure they cant reset it up.

Oddly I've had no issues (yet) with Moorcroft - They accept my offer of £5 a month on a £3800 debt without question.

    Credit Cards - HSBC - £9422
    Loans - NRAM £7500 & £12848
  • They can re-present the original mandate to the bank, who may well reinstate the DD, but it would be fraud on their part to do so, and your bank would be obliged to refund you in full.

well i spoke to a member of there team today and said i cant stretch to 208 as its way to much, explained about that if i used the dmp that i have set up through the ccs they would be allocated about 8 pound a month over five years i said i could pay 15 pound over four years. there was no arguments or threats lol. maybe its because my lengthy email explained i have rights etc. the man was (cougth) helpful, lol maybe he had enough of working there.
they offered final anf full payment of 750 from 890. but as i said to him if i could make a payment of 208, or 84 then 750 was to much.

Bear in mind it's safer to use a standing order than a DD....;)
