I attended an interview the other day and got to see the highly edited CV that the recruitment agency had sent across.
It had:- Date of birth removed
- my home address and phone number removed
- the actual business names that i have worked for in the past removed
- my current employer removed (replaced with a rough description of the type of business)
To be honest it made the CV look pretty awful as it had big white spaces all over it where they have deleted bits.
I mentioned this to the interviewer and he said they were used to it0 -

This isn't at all unusual. Recruitment agencies aren't going to take the risk of sending details of suitable candidates to employers with details on where they can contact the candidate directly and cut out paying the agency commission - and why would they, they're running a business.Make £2025 in 2025

Removing personal details isn't uncommon at all, though haven;t seen company names removed before and this would be an issue for me.
In addition to that at the last three place's I've worked agents or HR upload the CV to a web application that converts it from Word or PDF or whatever original format into a webpage and anything but the most basic formatting is lost (plus strange new formatting is added, particularly page breaks - had a 43 page CV the other day because of it!)
I personally have sort of used a service but didnt actually pay for it. I had discussions with an organisation that I thought was a recruitment agency and turned out to be a service to improve your job hunting ability but during their sales pitch they did suggest changes to my CV that I did implement - didn't go on to buy their service.0
