    No .
  • Definitely not, and when I was evaluating CVs any that looked mass-produced were discarded.

  • Never have and to be honest I don't think that it will make that much difference.

I've seen 100's - perhaps 1000's in my HR career :( and my view is as long as CV's are straightforward, clear and truthful (and fit on 2 pages) then they will be considered along with all others...

Remember no fancy type, no fancy formatting and cut out any words that are not required/don't mean anything....

Also a CV should be adjusted for each role so a hand-crafted one may quickly go out of date.

Do get a few people to proof read and give them a red pen and freedom to give honest feedback. It's amazing what you don't see after spending hours in front of a computer screen!
  • I proof read my friends CV the other day,
1, I have an excellent telephone manor
2, I have a keen eye for detail

    made me chuckle anyway
  • not used any paid service, especially when only done online.. heavens knows where my life details may end up!

jobclub and friends are the best way, to check if what YOU create is any good.

you'd stand out as somebody who can't write their own CV, and not get the job.
  • Would anyone in their right mind pay for a service that is a market saturated with free options?

I've not used a paid for service myself but isn't the whole point of them to produce a CV that doesn't look mass produced?
As regards getting the info online, I see lots of information of what you need to write but very little information on how exactly to write it so, again, I do see a purpose for the paying services for those that choose them.
Of course, the only proof of how good a CV is is how many interviews it gets you.
  • Not used and probably wouldn't.

If they are anything like agencies when they look at CV, they just say tweak it but never advise on how. Wouldn't pay for that service!
