Yes, but it's £26. There's no need for a service that insures for up to £500. He could've bought a first class stamp, charged 50p and had pretty much the same level of protection.

Even Ticketmaster doesn't use SD. It's way too expensive considering the cost of the tickets.

    no they wouldnt
which part of SD is the only service that cover tickets dont you get?

"I'd like to complain because I was charged the postage I agreed to when I bid on the item, even though it was way cheaper than the going rate inclusive of the postage as well."

    !!!!!!.
  • OK, never mind. Clearly I'm wrong about this.

Yes, I knew what the postage charge was before I bid, but I was also expecting to get actual tickets, not a printout.

And I'm surprised to see all the responses telling me about how well SD protects the seller. If I wanted to cheat the seller, I could say that the envelope arrived empty. Or that the ticket printout was fake. And if I were a hacker who was using someone else account/credit card, as durham_girl mentioned, Paypal could still take back the money. No? So SD only protects the seller when tickets are lost in the post, not when there's a chargeback.

SD protects a chargeback and a INR dispute. If the item was SNAD then, nothing will protect.....so the seller was absolutely correct in the way he acted.

If you told Paypal the ticket was a fake, then you would have to prove so, and only have 10 days to give an authorised resellers declaration by letter....

Protection is for both buyer and seller, it's not perfect, but in this instance the seller has done absolutely nothing wrong and everything right.

If you are a seller on ebay as well as a buyer i would strongly suggest you read some of the sticky posts about how to protect yourself as a seller. Paypal protection is quite clear and you need to refresh your understanding of it to avoid potential issues in future.

Don't let the printout version of a ticket spoil the day. E-progress is the E-future. You still would have paid the same either way and have an enjoyable concert.
