When you click "buy", if it puts you on the waiting list, it says where you are in the queue. Once you close this, to my knowledge, you can't tell where you are. After 15 minutes, if people haven't bought an item, then people on the list get offered it. A small box will appear in the top right hand corner of your Amazon screen. You have 3 minutes to add it.
