Saw a post or two earlier about buying a KitchenAid mixer from the US to take advantage of the lower price. I've had a look into it and reckon it's not worth it.

Don't think Customs Duty would apply as it's waived below £9, and the item value may be below the threshold anyway. It's difficult to work this out as the rates aren't readily available though. You would have to pay import VAT at 20% though.

You would also have to pay a significant postage cost as it's a heavy item, say £20-£30 I reckon.

I'd also be concerned about it arriving broken, and they you face the real problem of trying to get customer service for it.

You'd also have to buy a step-down transformer to convert the voltage from 240 to 110.

So all in I think the savings would not actually be that great, and you would have a hell of a risk in terms of customer service.

I am extremely happy that I got the GHD's! (I was 10th on the waiting list.) My daughter is desperate for GHD's and GHD's only... my budget was £50! Yesterday, I went out and bought her the Babyliss Pro Stylers... looks like they'll be going back! It's her birthday next week, can't wait to give them to her she will be delighted!!! :j :T

She will be delighted because if your budget was £50 there would have been no way other than today here on amazo that you would have got it for that price:D

you only get 15 minutes. someone else will have bought them now.

When you're on the waiting list you only seem to get 3 mins when it gets offered to you!

Morning everyone! My Lovefilm arrived today, and I can confirm it worked on an existing/active account. I logged in, went to 'my account', scrolled down to the bottom where there's a gift subscription thing (says you want to give a gift or you've received one), and it asks you to enter the code. Sorted!

Good luck to everyone today! :)
