For a while now weve been getting frustrated by her 'ignorance' but the last few days it's started occuring to me that it may actually be that she cant hear us! If you speak to her in a normal volume she doesn't respond, not even to things like 'do you want some sweets', 3 months ago you couldve whispered that as quiet as possible and she's be there like a shot. You have to raise your voice to get her to respond and have a conversation with her. MAny times she has said 'i cant hear you mummy, i cant hear the tv' etc, but i thought she was just trying to make me be loud as a way of her controlling me if you know what i mean, or like a game. Now it's all falling into place and i feel guilty for not realising sooner. And a few months back she would hear the gate open and be like 'whos here' now somebody can knock on the door, i go let them in and be talking for a few mins and she doesnt realise anybody is here until she sees them. She is 3years 3months.
I think it is probably glue ear or a build up of wax. Don't feel guilty because children do things like that sometimes. My 3 year old grandson has epilepsy and has recently started to fake convulsions so I understand what you are saying about little ones "controlling" you. Take your daughter to your GP and put your mind at rest. xx0 -

Right, I'm away to get some petrol fetch DS from School in a few minutes. Now, can you keep the levcel of postings down please? I'll be away for over an hour, and it's been taking me ages to catch up on it all when I get back - this morning you lot were posting faster than I could read the backlog from yesterday, I ended up having to skip 3 whole pages just to get some work done.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
