I hate the fact they are just repeating deals to shift more stock that they can't get rid of!

I'm hoping it will be something like that. She's never had an ear infection though, but is always full of cold. But me being me I can't help but go overboard and think she might end up completely deaf.. I do worry too much :( I've made her an appointment for the doctors and hopefully they will refer her for a hearing test

I read back and they don't need to have an ear infection to have it. Better take her to the doctor but my money's on it being something like that. x

oh bless her. Did she have the hearing test in the hospital when she was born? Does she have pain? It might be something as simple as a build up of wax. Try not to worry too much, just get her checked out and don't beat yourself for not noticing, i sent my 3 year old into playgroup thinking he just had a cold to find out the next day he had a chest infection!! (He did want to go in btw, i didn't drag him in lol) xx

She hasn't complained about any pain. Yes she passed her hearing test when she was born and her speech is very clear so this is a recent thing. aww bless you ds, my dd would still want to go to nursery ill too

I'm worried about my DD. For a while now weve been getting frustrated by her 'ignorance' but the last few days it's started occuring to me that it may actually be that she cant hear us! If you speak to her in a normal volume she doesn't respond, not even to things like 'do you want some sweets', 3 months ago you couldve whispered that as quiet as possible and she's be there like a shot. You have to raise your voice to get her to respond and have a conversation with her. MAny times she has said 'i cant hear you mummy, i cant hear the tv' etc, but i thought she was just trying to make me be loud as a way of her controlling me if you know what i mean, or like a game. Now it's all falling into place and i feel guilty for not realising sooner. And a few months back she would hear the gate open and be like 'whos here' now somebody can knock on the door, i go let them in and be talking for a few mins and she doesnt realise anybody is here until she sees them. She is 3years 3months.
Try not to worry, I had a similar thing with my DS at a similar age, the DR referred him to the audiology department and he's had several hearing tests that they make fun for them. Turns out he has slightly below average hearing in one ear but with my DS it seems to be more of an 'awareness of other people' problem. (iyswim!) It can be as simple as needing sodium bicarbonate drops. xxx

Hope your aunt is ok earthsparkly. xxx
I managed to get my MIL to pick my DS up from school (how terrible :o) so am eagerly waiting for the Dr Who boxset! :D

My daughter was like that (at a similar age too), so I took her to the dr. He sent her to the hospital for a hearing test, and it turned out to be a severe buid-up of wax. She had her ears 'vacuumed' out and she's fine, but it's just starting to happen again....
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
