UKPC Parking Charge

My parents got one of those parking charge ticket from UKPC saying they parked on disabled parking space without clearly shown the badge.
The car they were using is registered as disabled car, basically dont need to pay for anything apart from insurance, which means DVLA knows it is a car for disability person.
On the ticket it says they will get information from DVLA to get hold of our address and will use that to contact us if we failed to pay up within 28 days.
Kinda wondered me do they have the right to request those information or will DVLA provided them to UKPC?
I am thinking of appeal the ticket anyway on my parents behalf, based on the facts that
1. My parents do have a disable badge
2. Their car is registered to DVLA as a disable car.
3. They have the right to use that space, no matter whether there is a blue badge being display or not.
4. They do have a blue badge shown on display on the sun visor.
But after think of it more carefully, UKPC missing some information,, if I do appeal, they will get hold of those information and could possible make the problem worst.
I am a regular MSE forum user and I understand people suggest not to bother with any private parking charge notices from any private companies, simply just ignore them. But if I make an appeal within 14 days at least they will put the case on hold. If it is all come to the worst, my parents will only have to pay half the charge stated in the notice.
Not really sure of what to do next:(

You have answered your own question. There is no "appeals service". It's just a way for them to easily get your address.
Ignore, ignore, and ignore again.
And just when you get to the end of ignoring them, ignore for a bit longer. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

We are very sure about what you should do!
You should ignore them, you should not contact them or the DVLA.
You do know that the Blue Badge scheme does not apply in private car parks anyway, and the DDA Act rules here?
However, UKPC don't care, they just want your parents money. You just need to educate them on the scam and how it works. Print off the UKPC letter chain from the Sticky and show them each of the letters they will receive so they will not worry.
They are not going to court, they are not going to get anyone knocking on their door or the bailiffs coming around. Trust us.
These Blue Badge invoices are the worst, because they know they are probably dealing with more vulnerable people... but they don't care, they just want your parents money.
Support them and make sure their money stays in their pocket!0 -
you are completely wasting your time, full stop.do not contact in any way shape or form,, they do not do appeals,, THEY WANT YOUR MONEY,,nothing else,,just completely ignore everything you recieve in the post from them or on behalf of them,, yes,, the red ink in later threat o grams get bigger,, but an unenforceable invoice,,if you do contact them ,they will hound you alot longer as soon as they realise no monies are coming their way , they will move on to someone else,do yourself a favour,,,,IGNORE.0

They are scammers who will have noticed they were elderly and know they make good prey.
Step in and tell them to give all letters to you to deal with.
Then ignore them and file it.
Do BE WARNED if they pay they usually come back for more money in "late payment" charges, even if they pay in good time and they can come back again and again until someone steps in and puts a stop to the scam.

To add, yes, they can get your details from DVLA (the reason they can is subject to much debate - around £14m per annum worth of debate!!!) but it costs them £2.50 to get this information.
So, don't save these scammers any money, let them spend their £2.50 and then you can ignore their invoice and 'threat-o-grams' as they arrive.0 -
Did anyone here ever been taken to court due to unpaid charge? Also normally how long is the ignore process needed to be before 100% sure they will not bother me or my parents again?0

UKPC have never ever taken anyone to court. Even if they did, what makes you think they'd win? They aren't legally owed the money.
4 or 5 letters is the norm. There's nothing you can do - even paying won't stop the letters. They'll just say you owe some made up 'late payment' fees if you've been stupid enough to pay them.0 -

So it is right to assume if there isnt anymore letters from them in 2-3 months time then their charge is dropped?;)0 -

You are worrying too much, but yes, when they stop contacting you they have given up and moved on. At what point this is differs from PPC to PPC, but they all give up. The burden of proof lies with them and not you, so if you deny debt, which you are doing by ignoring them, they have to take you to court, which they won't do, because they can't prove anything... more so if you posts the truth about your parents situation.0 -
You are taking these clowns too seriously. There might be three letters, there might be more. So what? you still don't have to pay them. Just look upon it as a form of junk mail.So it is right to assume if there isnt anymore letters from them in 2-3 months time then their charge is dropped?;)What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
