Northern Rock website working?

Hi all, have been lurking around the forums for a while but didn't join until today, when I need help with something ;)

I'm just wondering if everyone else is finding the Northern Rock website to be as annoyingly slow as I am. It's time for me to transfer my current ISA into one with a better deal, and I decided to go with the Northern Rock one shown as the best deal in the ISA section of the site. But, whether I follow Martin's link or go to the website directly, nothing past the home page loads! This was the case last week as well (so not a temporary thing) and I've tried in both Firefox and IE. I'm wondering, is it just my connection, or is it something others have experienced as well? Even if I managed to eventually sign up for the ISA, I don't want to be with a provider whose website doesn't work, thus denying me easy access to my (online-only) account!

    It appears to work OK for me, I was able to get as far as the ISA application screen without any problems (IE8).

    Works ok for me as well using Firefox 8.0

    I was in a half hour ago opening an account and some pages took an age to load. Running Google Chrome, but other sites (I've always got multiple tabs on the boil :) ) were responding as normal.

    I personally wouldn't worry about it.

    Hi PinkDuck I've been having what seems to be exactly the same problem as you and it's been happening over the past month. No problem for me on any other website that I access. Yet Northern Rock is slow and doesn't load many of the pages. I need to worry about it, because it's unusable. PinkDuck did you find a solution? You're not with Virgin Media by any chance?

    This is the same in all browsers I use. The trouble is that this is also happening on my iPhone which is not connecting via my home's broadband, but instead, via 3G.
  • I think the problem is to do with using Google Chrome as your browser. I've been having the same problems as you. The Northern Rock website was very slow to load (I have a fibre broadband connection) so it wasnt my connection. I switched to using Internet explorer or firefox and the site ran fast as normal.
