New York Hotel Deals

Hiya,

Anyone know of of any deals, offers, promotions, codes or ideas for (decent) hotels in New York centre? Been seaching for a while now and a lot of 2-3* are as expensive as say the upper end hotels. We're thinking mid March.

Any help or ideas appreciated!

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea which I was very pleased with. See my Tripadvisor review here.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.

    Hope that helps

If you are thinking Mid March, perhaps you are including St Patrick's day in your search ?

The New Yorkers are CRAZY for St Paddy's day and it's a busy time for the parade etc, so maybe prices are a bit bumped up ?

Good time to be there though, weather can very sooooo much in March. I had a snowball fight when I got there and 2 days later on St Patricks' day I was wearing a t-shirt - go figure !!

If that's when you'll be there, the 17th, then the parade is good for a wee while, but it lasted about 6 hours from what I remember. Just dip in and out of it as you do your sightseeing, it covers most of 5th avenue I think

and everything will be in OTT style - i.e large hats everywhere and every American you meet claiming to be part Irish

  • I've stayed in Radio City Apartments on all of my visits (3 in total). They are very reasonable and clean, nothing swanky but I found them to be just what I was looking for. Very close to Times Square and a subway at end of the block. They are operated like a hotel but there is no restaurant in the building and each room has a small kitchen.
