Bit of a long shot answer but you've covered the obvious ones
We never bother with salt /rinse aid (we are in a soft water area). and It is supposedly in the tabs (quite how the rinse aid bit works, in the tabs, is beyond me). Hasn't caused any problem.
Occasionally ours doesn't clean completely but it is usually down to the filter traps. Are you sure you are taking them all out? We have 3 concentric filters/sieves. Are all the small holes really clear?
Are you using the 55/60 full cycle with really grubby stuff?
We also have an economy cycle that only cleans the top basket, if that gets accidentally used it won't clean/dry all the machine.
If you are in a hard water area is it possible you haven't got furred up pipes, reducing the water pressure to the arms?
If you know you have water in the machine, but it is empty and fairly dry at the end can you let us know what the engineer finds?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Alfrescove, yes I have checked both the salt and rinse manually both fine. Thanks for the question as you never know.
grizzly1911, as far as I am aware I am not in a "hard" water area but I will check.
Not really sure what you mean but if it is what I think it is I have only ever used the Intensive cycle on my dishwasher regardless of what dishes I have put in it (I know not very moneysavingexpert)Are you using the 55/60 full cycle with really grubby stuff?
As to the filters I have always checked them from day one so I am pretty sure they are clear.
I did however see suds in the machine on a test cycle when I had not added any tablets and I wonder if there could be a build up?
I will let you know they outcome either way.0 -
Just an update as promised. After spending a number of days ringing round to find an engineer who would actually 'work' on Baumatic, finally got someone out. Could not believe that most of the engineers we called would not touch a Baumatic.
Within 15 minutes he had diagnosed that the bottom arm was not rotating due to the circulation motor and the seal, that feeds the top arm had completely disintegrated. Parts were ordered and luckily arrived quickly. We now have a working dishwasher and I am very happy
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to my original post.0
