Best media centre application for recording TV

I currently use Windows Media Centre as a PVR on an Asus EB1501 (Windows 7). I find WMC a bit unwieldy though at times and would like to try something else. I understand that this area of XBMC is currently under development and haven't looked at Boxee yet.
So I was wondering what media centre applications people would recommend as a PVR.
cheers

Would booting to linuxmce work for you? With the right toys it can also control your lighting, appliances, etc too ;-)0

If you've an XBOX360 use the MC Extender on that, I find it much better than controlling WMC directly on my PC.0
