I bought some boots Yesterday from River Island. I have just had an E-mail through saying on wed all students get 20% off in the store. My question is as it is within 7 days of purchase would i be eligible for a part refund?
I have already worn the boots so will be unable to return and re-buy :-(

Had you not worn the boots and you'd bought these online you could have returned them under the DSR. Alternatively had you not worn them and River Island have a returns policy then, again, you might have been able to return them for a full refund then purchased again at the lower price.
However, I should imagine that your wearing them already has probably negated any opportunity you might have had to return them. However, River Island would do well to honour their student discount, even in retrospect, because it's sound business sense to keep customers happy.
Why not email or pop in store, explain about buying them very, very recently, i.e. just the day before the email, look a bit pathetic and hopeful, and they might well give you some money back

No, you get the full price back when you return the second pair of boots, effectively leaving you having paid the discounted sum for the first pair.
This would only work if they were prepared to take the boots back for a full refund. Not being familiar with River Island's returns policy I don't know if they'd do this. They might just give you a credit note, in which case you've not achieved that much.

I am hoping that the manager will take pity on me on Wed :-p
