  • Thank you once again for all your input. Sorry the account name was not there originally but I did add it later; it was an "online saver". I shall have to get Mum dressed - she's a bit frail and not often out of her nightclothes - and take her to her branch to get it changed. qpop - it seems like what you've suggested is the most likely - thanks.
  • Google tells me that Lloyds introduced this account in 2001.
    It was marketed as an account providing for both telephone and internet access.

  • Have taken Mum to transfer the money out of the internet account. Chiefgrasscutter is right - inasmuch as the cashier said it would have been opened over the phone. It seems the banks rely on people - especially old people? not keeping abreast of their accounts and reduce the interest to negligible - but guess that's a given. Difficult to input into parents' banking as it implies a losing of their previously capable selves.
