Hope someone can help.
Am trying to back up e-mails, however the way I have done it before is to got to search and put in *.DBX This I have done for the last few days and whilst it finds the e-mails it will not stop searching, when I click the stop button the green bar continues to run even though the stop button is greyed out, then when I click edit > select all, it eventually goes to "not responding"
Any ideas how to sort it, or another,(easy) way to back up?
Thanks

Have a look at this link under the outlook express section.
http://www.sitedeveloper.ws/tutorials/outlook.htm
it details how to find the exact location of your .DBX files.0 -

OK thanks for that, it appears to have worked, except I can't see my address book in there, the way I described I have previously done it in my OP the adrress book was visible, how can I make sure the address book is there? I have copied address book to word then copied and pasted into USB pen drive, but am wondering why it did not go with the rest!
Also I have copied my favourites onto the pen drive, but this again was from local disc C, and I think only from I E, how do I copy the bookmarks from Firefox? I have gone to "manage bookmarks" >select all >copy, but it will not allow me to paste either onto pen drive or desktop, the paste facility does not seem to work!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
OE address book: see http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/wab.htm
FF bookmarks: copy then paste into Notepad and save as a file. Or use File - Export in Bookmarks Manager to create bookmarks.html0 -

Not sure about your first suggestion, can't find WAB
Re FF if I export to documents or desktop etc, do I loose the bookmarks at that point in FF or will they stay there?
Still don't know why it did not go with the rest when I did MCM's way!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
In which case Sharing the Contacts folder in Outlook applies.derrick wrote:Not sure about your first suggestion, can't find WAB
It creates a copy in a separate file and they stay in FF.derrick wrote:Re FF if I export to documents or desktop etc, do I loose the bookmarks at that point in FF or will they stay there?0 -

Managed to find WAB, am not shared.
So if I save to desktop, I will have a copy on my desktop,(or my documents or whatever), but the bookmarks will still be available in the FF browser, is that correct?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Yes, that's correct.0

Thanks for the help, but do you have any explanation as to why the search function won't work as I mentioned in my OP?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
