Samsung Galaxy on open network;no internet with google browser on 3!

I have recently been given an open network Samsung Galaxy mobile and I have put a new 3 SIM in it and activated it, it IS 3G capable etc(I have topped up the new SIM with £10 for a 3 addon) BUT when I use the browser on it to look at websites it is just coming with this page cannot be found. I waited till evening to see if it was just a network problem and tried again later;still NO luck. I looked at the mobile manual and there is nothing I can see to get it to work. Is this a problem peculiar to Samsung Galaxy phones open to any network that they won't access the internet on 3 PAYG if the phone has been been set up for any other mobile network then opened up for all networks?;)

  • Have you contacted 3 to see if there is a problem with your account/network with them.

The handset shouldnt really be an issue.

You could also check your settings possible wrong Internet settings for mobile account or even data turned off on the phone .

I'm on 3. AFAIK once the sim is activated your phone should just see the 3G signal associated with the sim.

Is your internet turned on on the phone?
Long press power button tap Mobile Network to switch on / off

Can you connect to the internet using wifi?
Switch on, on 2nd home page (on mine) 1st tab on the black bar - looks like a radar signal (or wireless signal) tap to activate.
