Thanks. The paperwork and payment was actually made prior to collection (they claimed something about cashflow and that I could always cancel the cheque if I wasn't happy). Obviously, I now realise that was foolish.0

So that's the bosy work problems put to bed then.
I'd just give Motability another try.
Mileage descrepencies happen a bit too often to be honest. 90% of them are sloppy clerical errors. Out of all of the mileage descrepencies I've dealt with I can't actually remember any of them being down to clocking.0
