What is the chances that PCN would chase this further ?

I'm now at the point where I wonder if it would be easier to just say to my dad to pay the charge and hope it all goes away

Nice try. If you pay you will probably get more letters stating that more money is owed for 'late payment' or other such nonsense. If you pay you'll be marked as a payer and someone who has fallen for the scam. If someone pays once the parking company knows full well they'll probably cough up again, so send further letters. Anyone ringing up to complain will also probably have to call a premium rate number.

    Just ignore.

take it you mean the ppc, will they ,take it further,,, well, put it this way,,,shergar has just passed my window with lord lucan riding him on the way to the popes wedding, that scenario will happen first,so in a word or two,,,no chance of taking it further,,these people are scammers, we know it, the courts know it and so do these scammers disguised as private parking companies.
  • I just received my 'Final Reminder' The fine was £40. Is now £70 until..... Will be £90 if not paid by......
They then go on to state that some Sheriff may come round to my house to take some personal items :rotfl:
On a serious note it really angers me how Morrisons - a huge supermarket chain - allow these thugs to threaten customers who pay hundreds of pounds in their store every month.

Yep. The more people who complain to the big supermarkets the better. A big bag of complaints about PPCs will surely hit home with one or two of them, even on a store by store basis. The more PPCs that get kicked out the better.

At the moment the supermarkets defend the use of a PPC as they reckon they are acting in response to complaints that have come in from disabled people having a moan when the disabled bays are busy. In fact their response should surely be to consider putting in more disabled bays if it's an ongoing issue at a store.

Disabled people having a moan is understandable but the real problem is that not many of them realise that in a private car park, looking for a Blue Badge is NOT the only way of knowing whether someone is entitled to take up such a bay. It could just be that the local population quite simply/genuinely needs more disabled bays there.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As with the above ignore it. Sure they have a photo of the driver but they've still to prove that the person photo'd is the same person they're writing to. Sure they could sit outside your house with a camera waiting but that amounts to harassment and frankly they'll find themselves in a worse position than you're in now.

Gotta hand it to parkingeye, they've grown pretty quickly..

  • Feel like taking me to court then ParkingEye? You have backed out twice and I think there is more to this than meets the (Parking) eye.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
