Pension (level) Term Life Insurance

Having just read the thread about Term cover (which dated back to 2005), there was much written about probable rule changes to do with a 'Pension Term assurance' life cover that would come into force in April 2006. This would, in the words of the contributors, make level term insurance a minority product compared with the new 'pension ' cover. Has this change actually taken place?

I recently rebrokered my life cover to standard level term and didnt not see the pension term cover as an option anywhere? The new cover offers tax relief, and as a higher rate payer this seems attractive to me. Anybody got any thoughts?

pension term assurance was relaunched in April 2006 and the Govt abolished it in December 2006. Well done Govt for such a balls up.

Unless you have a pre 2001 pension term assurance, you cant get one now.
