Presents for Nursery teachers

My wee girl has five teachers at nursery and would like to give them all a small gift to say thanks at Xmas! Any ideas for a nice little gift- a bit more unusual than chocs or smellies- thanks

  • I work in a nursery and the homemade gifts go down well with most!! Especially if the child it's off has helped!!

  • last year, I made little salt dough star decorations and my DS painted them red or green, I tied them with a piece of matching ribbon and wrote his name and the year on the back in nice handwriting.

They looked so pretty and I only had to pay about 40p for the ribbons!
back to comping after a 2 year break!! Mission… to win a gift for all my family for Christmas!

last year for my DD1's nursery teachers i did a small hamper with a wine glass, minature bottle of wine and a candle - they seemed to go down well.

This year for DD1's nursery teachers i am doing a snowman soup each and i am thinking of a sweet tree between all of them (we'll see how much time i have).

Iggy1313 - my little ones just made salt dough decorations today, after reading your post i think i'll use them as gift tags for this years teacher presents!
  • .... But of course you could always do the trusty 'pots of gold'!?

I used various shaped boxes (different for each teacher) and let my daughter decorate them entirely with crafty bits and seasonal stickers, lots of sequins, lined with coloured shredded paper, they looked cute and she had great fun making them!
That said i have bought some lovely smallish baskets from home bargains for some of my hampers for this year (1.99 i think)

we have made felt stockings decorations to hang on the tree and sown on the front to (name) happy christmas love (name) and the year and have just done some of the elizbath shaw mints to go with them.
  • My children decorated plain baubles last year for teachers/childminders and will be doing something similar this year. All the teachers were really pleased and said it was going to go straight on their tree so DD and DS were very pleased, with the number of teachers/TA/nursery teachers they have doing anything ese would cost a fortune.
