Any decent hotels in/near by Durham- NE England

Going to wedding reception in Durham next weekend. Any nice hotels you can reccomend for the girlfriend and i with 10-15 mile radius?? Ideally 4* +

Hallgarth Manor & Lumley Castle are both 4*+ and within 5 miles of Durham. There's also the Royal County & Three Tuns Hotel in the centre of the city.

Ramside Hall is also nice, not sure what star though but only 2 miles away

Ignore Ramside Hall ! Just good enough for large party catering. Lumley Castle is what you want. Impress her and enjoy the benefits !

If you have the money, Lumley Castle is fabulous. It's very luxurious. Our room had a huge roll top bath and a 4 poster bed :cool:

The Royal County in the city centre is nice too. I haven't stayed but have been for a meal there. It's right on the river so very scenic, and you can see the castle/cathedral from there.
