Please Help!

My OH and I are booked in to go on an experience day next week at 'Double Take Studios' in Southampton. For a couples photoshoot.

I have tried to login all weekend with no luck.

I have just tried to call them and it says 'they have had to close due to unforseen circumstances' I had a hunt around online and they have gone in to liquidation!

No one from the company has sent me a letter or called or emailed me.

I'm not sure where I stand, and dont want to not turn up to be charged the cancellation fees.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

unless you can get through to them I would expect you are going to have to turn up. If you have paid anything so far how exactly did you pay?
  • Several Google hits suggesting they have closed. Keep an eye out to see if they have appointed an administrator?
  • I'm wondering the same thing too! I've been trying to google various things to no avail, have emailed and had no response and called to be told that they're closed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Problem is; I've already had the photoshoot, and am waiting on the photographs. Now i'm not sure that i'll ever get them, so is there any way to get our money back?? Any help would be appreciated!!

(PS - To the OP, if you do get to go to the shoot, it is good fun, but can be a tad pushy when it comes to sales. Cheapest photo (on cd i might add) is about £100!! My OH and I got a package and ended up paying £400, getting £100 discount, and the studios matched £200 (double money thing) so would have totalled £700!!!!

They told us 28 days to receive photos (again, on disc) and i'm still waiting. Currently on Day 24, and losing all hope!! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

all their sites seem to be up

The location pages are up, but if you click anywhere else, you get the "404 code" page! x

Did you pay by debit or credit card?
Or maybe some other credit agreement?

If so, prepare yourself by reading MSE's Section 75 Refunds article.

From what I can see, their site must be just having temporary problems, - it was up on November 8th, at least on google cache results. Maybe they got hacked?

From the OP "I have just tried to call them and it says 'they have had to close due to unforseen circumstances"

Having a website hacked wouldn't have this effect.

We did! Both my OH and I paid on our debit cards.
Will read the article you linked.
    Thanks! x

Most of the online reviews of Double Take Studios (in Southampton) are pretty horrendous.

Anyway, according to http://www.makeover4u.com/ Double Take have gone bust:
This simple Website has been built to ensure any losses you incur from the Collapse of Double Take Studios are kept to a minimum.

Double Take studios ceased trading on the 10th Nov leaving anyone who has a booked appointment and / or ticket / voucher at bit of a loss.

Any tickets you currently hold for a makeover experience are now useless .....
Of course you can't believe everything you read on the Interweb. The webpage goes on to offer a similar service to affected Double Take customers for £9.99.
  • Hello,

I am waiting to reviece a disc for them too, if anyone find out more please let me know
