Not sure, don't think so but if it is then I would probably run a mile.......

Been dealing with Aunts home, which has a very old stairlift.

It's been sold with stairlift, the buyer has a fair bit of work to do to bring the place up to date & has included disposal into his costs, I think he is going to build an extension anyway as the house is on a nice big corner plot.

I just sold the white goods to a 2nd hand dealer (got very little, but they had to go). He offered to take the stairlift out while he was there, I presume he could get a bit for scrap or had a contact that would pay him a bit for it (he claimed he would be giving it away, I did not believe that, my attitude was you pay something for it or we leave it because the buyer is happy for it to stay ).

    I would try Gumtree

When we sold my parents' house it needed so much doing to it, and we were working full time and living 2hrs away, so sold it as it was, including stair lift. It all had to be gutted, rewired, Central heating put in, new windows etc, so in the greater scheme of things the stair lift was not worth worrying about.
  • You could use these guys who will remove certain brands for free. http://www.prestigestairlifts.co.uk/stairlift-removal.html. If its one they fitted the do a buyback scheme.

That is probably because there is some resale value in them. Some companies charge to remove as they have to send out employees in a van so need to cover expenses etc and some are custom built to the staircase so limited value.

Gumtree or Ebay is an option if you want to sell the stairlift yourself. Bear in mind they can weigh quite a lot with the batteries and motors.
